Helena the little mermaid

Well, Helena as Ariel. Personally, I felt Kasumi would probably be a bit more fitting for the role, but still, Helena does look stunning as her. Then again, Ariel was originally going to be blonde before Jeffrey Katzenberg demanded that they change it since it makes Ariel look too much like the girl from Splash (and while I'm not one to think Katzenberg was even remotely a good producer, I admit he does technically have a point).

I prefer the Disney version more than the Hans Christian Andersen version of the story though, largely because the latter just had the mermaid being such a selfish brat and pretty much a lot of people suffering for what she did with no chance at repair (honestly, the mermaid's the closest one to actually GET a happy end, and even then, it's bittersweet. At least in the Disney version, Ariel actually DOES attempt to fix her mistakes, and would not dare try to knowingly put people in danger for her actions.), and to make matters worse the mermaid got what she wanted in the end despite all the pain she caused her sisters, her grandma, her dad, even her lover.
